about

The album tells a story of a man who loves music. He comes across a girl and is obligated to take care of her. The story entails the relationship between the man and the girl, and the girl's involvement and impact on the man's music.

This album marks the start of 'The Story Concept Era'. For this album, I've come into recording this with a story in mind to match the music and be directly linked together with it. Whether it was a success or not, I will never know.

This is the first album I was truly proud of. Maybe 'Welcome Home', 'Ruin' and 'Longing' didn't exactly make the cut, but they deserve to be on the album because they were supporting the main idea of the album.

When it came to the music, I had the idea to play to time signatures starting with 12/4 from 'Welcome Home' down to 1/4 in 'Longing'. They weren't exactly strict on the time signatures, where 'Ruin' was more like a (5+6)/4, 'Softer I' was more 4/4 than 8/4 and 'Stop' was more 5/4 than 10/4. Nonetheless, I thought it worked out really well, especially with 'Conversation'.

I featured 'Conversation' because I believe it represented the album the best; it had the first quiet section before moving to a more jazz-fusion-y section, and then breaking down with a heavy metal section. Just imagine my excitement when I was done with this track.

One of my proudest, and I'd strongly recommend that you'd check this album out first.
